Waseem Saddique Marketing Services: Tips on Maximising Mobile Marketing Trends

Mobile marketing is arguably the fastest growing form of marketing on the planet at present. In this definitive guide, Waseem Saddique Marketing Services provides an overview of the top mobile marketing trends and how to maximise those trends.

Waseem Saddique states: “According to eMarketer.com, 43% of global business leaders plan to increase mobile marketing in 2013; 4 in 10 will also increase search spend. So businesses need to sit up and take notice of the mobile marketing revolution.”

This guide identifies the top trends of mobile marketing and aims to give businesses around the world a head start on their competitors when it comes to winning the battle for mobile marketing supremacy.

Key Movements

#1 - Mobile Advertising Spend is on the Increase

Research by Forrester reveals that mobile advertising in the United States will become a $2.5 billion business by 2014. Needless to say, the first key to maximising mobile marketing is to get on board and recognise that the market is growing at an incredible pace and the momentum looks set to be sustained.

#2 – Smartphones are Taking Over the Mobile World

By 2015, eMarketer.com has predicted that Smartphone owners will account for 43% of the mobile user population. The significant shift in the number of people using Smartphones will breed a new consumer audience that are much more engaged and making use of e-commerce
mobile sites for their purchasing needs.

Waseem Saddique says: “In order to maximise the opportunity of reaching such an audience, businesses need to be implementing mobile marketing strategies across the overall marketing strategy for the business. One way to do this is to develop a unique mobile ‘app’.”

#3 – Tablet Demand is on the Rise

In a bid to dominate the Tablet market, big name phone manufacturers such as Samsung, Blackberry and HTC have all produced their own version of tablet in order to compete with the iPad. The iPad currently holds 80% of the market according to eMarketer.com

As well as developing a mobile marketing strategy for the Smartphone market, businesses also need to consider a marketing strategy that’s effective on tablet gadgets. In order to take advantage of this trend, businesses should again look at producing a mobile ‘app’ suitable for use on tablets.

#4 – Mobile Optimisation is Imperative

Frequent innovations and improvements to mobile websites and application design are a regular feature of the mobile marketing world. These improvements are made to enhance the consumer experience, making things more interactive and simplistic.

In order to remain up-to-date with innovation, it will become a necessity for businesses to optimise website URL’s for mobile access. Waseem Saddique states: “To put it simply, all SEO traditions apply, but they must be strictly adhered to.”

#5 – Going Social via Mobile

Social networking has become the fastest-growing category among mobile ‘app’ and mobile browser users. eMarketer.com predicts that by the year 2015, the mobile social network population will reach figures close to 79 million across popular social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pintrest, YouTube and LinkedIn.

In America, it is reported that people spend one of every six minutes online accessing a social network, this provides businesses with a superb opportunity to maximise the mobile marketing trend through exposure on social media sites.

#6 – Location Based Mobile Marketing Will be an Essential Requirement

With Facebook introducing their ‘Places Application’, the consumer audience will become increasingly reliant on mobile sites and apps to respond based on geographic location. Merely posting status updates is now outdated and it’s all about location.
For the purposes of mobile marketing, businesses are able to maximise the opportunity of being able to pinpoint their audience and find out what geographical locations are attracting an ‘active’ audience.

#7 – Consumers Demand Accessibility

Waseem Saddique says: “Accessing the Internet via computers is no longer the ‘norm’. Consumers are now focussed on accessing information, supplied by businesses, via a mobile site and therefore, speed and the ease at which they can access the site is of the highest importance to them.”

Again, the best way to maximise the mobile marketing strategy of a business is to develop an ‘app’ that is fast, efficient and reliable.

The growth of mobile marketing has been relentless and the trend continues. There is a whole new audience now reachable whilst on the go. Consumer behaviour has altered dramatically and businesses need to adapt to meet the consumer need for mobile information.

‘Be Smart & Take Your Tablets’: Waseem Saddique Marketing Services Explores the Impact of Smartphones and Tablets on Mobile Marketing

Attention all businesses, did you know? Owners of both a Smartphone and a Tablet spend more time and money on mobile shopping. Waseem Saddique comments: “According to research conducted by PayPal, there exists, an incredible opportunity for businesses to market themselves on a global scale by implementing Mobile Marketing strategies.”

The recent findings of the PayPal survey highlighted that tablet ownership increases the frequency of mobile shopping, improving the buying experience and leads to consumers, who own both devices, using smartphones more frequently.

As a result businesses have begun to target mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones, to launch new and innovative mobile marketing campaigns. Mobile ‘app’ development has surged in the last 12 months as businesses look to expand the reach of their marketing efforts.

What the figures say…
  •       More than 40% of people who own both a Smartphone and a Tablet made more than 20 purchases via a mobile device over the past 12 months
  •       Two-thirds of people that possess both a Smartphone and a Tablet revealed that their overall spending had increased as a result of their mobile purchasing habits
  •       ‘Dual owners’ are also 63% more likely to make a mobile purchase as opposed to 29% of people who own a Smartphone only

The Impact
Waseem Saddique comments: “Businesses that do not have a mobile marketing campaign need to seriously consider revising their marketing strategy. Businesses are starting to take advantage of this growing trend and are adapting mobile websites and apps for devices such as Smartphones and Tablets.”

Mobile marketing has become a necessity for businesses in order to tap into a massive consumer audience and to stay in touch or exceed rivals. Mobile marketing has seen a phenomenal increase with the emergence of mobile devices. After all, mobile devices allow people to access information on the go; therefore a mobile marketing campaign is a must for any business.

The revolution of mobile shopping is only set to grow and with Christmas 2012 on the horizon, experts are predicting a surge in the volume of people purchasing goods via mobile devices. This provides a great opportunity for businesses to engage and interact with customers instantly.

The impact of mobile devices on mobile marketing has been glaringly apparent. Mobile devices allow businesses to reach consumers via websites, social media (such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube), mobile applications and a whole host of other platforms.

Waseem Saddique explains: "In short, mobile marketing has gone global; there is virtually nowhere that a business is unable to reach a consumer, as the majority of the world now owns a mobile device. From a business point of view this is great news, because hypothetically speaking, businesses are able to put a marketing mobile campaign in the ‘pocket of the consumer’ or place it in the ‘palm of the consumer’s hand'."

The 4G revolution: Birmingham based, Waseem Saddique Marketing Services, welcomes 4G technology.

With much of the world’s data going mobile, businesses across the globe are adapting their online marketing campaigns for mobile technology such as smartphones and tablets.

Companies that have not adapted their internet marketing strategies for the mobile market are being urged to ‘get on board’. In a bid to cope with more data going mobile, 4G technology has recently been launched to process all data at much quicker speeds.

Waseem Saddique comments: “If businesses do not respond to the rise in mobile technology usage and adapt online marketing campaigns accordingly, a number of companies will fast go out of business.”

There are a number of factors behind the need for 4G technology, most important of which is to manage the massive rise in the use of mobile data. As consumers frequently access social media sites, personal e-mail accounts and mobile applications whilst on the go, 4G technology has been launched to allow consumers to access data on a much quicker scale.

Waseem Saddique states: “4G technology is set to revolutionise the speed at which consumers can access information whilst on the move. Therefore, business competitiveness to get their brand in front of potential clients will intensify. The only way this can be done is to develop innovative online marketing strategies that can be adapted for use with mobile technology.”

Predominantly, social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter and Youtube, are the most frequently accessed applications via mobile gadgets. 4G technology means mobile gadget users can access such applications much more swiftly when compared with 3G technology.

According to the Chetan report, the mobile market is set to generate $1.5 trillion in revenue over the next 12 months, thanks to the introduction of 4G technology. From a business perspective, worldwide figures for mobile gadget owners are set to surge; therefore there has never been a better time for business owners to develop internet marketing strategies adapted for mobile technology.

Despite early ‘teething’ problems, 4G technology will change the face of the mobile market and in order for businesses to reap the benefits, they need to adapt to consumer needs and modify online marketing strategies to embrace the growing domination of mobile devices.

Get Started With Mobile Search Marketing!

Worldwide, the number of consumers who own a mobile phone is far greater than the number who own a computer.

“This means that it is more important than ever for your business to build and grow a mobile presence, irrespective of whether you are trying to sell tickets to an event, rooms in a hotel, cars or houses!” Says marketing expert, Waseem Saddique.

In 12 months the mobile advertising market has grown by 41%. The mobile market represents a new and ever-growing route to market for businesses.

In the UK, ownership of iPhones or Android devices continues to grow rapidly, as does the number of people using phones to search for businesses. Almost 13 million people in the UK alone own a smartphone and over 13.5 million people now surf the internet on their mobile.

“Now is the time to ensure your business has a place in mobile marketing especially if you sell products or services.” Says Waseem.

The way people use the internet is about to change. If the browsing habits of your target market change you will need to adapt your online presence.

When Pay Per Click was born it transformed online advertising, however with the rapid growth of mobile search marketing there are several key differences between online and mobile Pay Per Click.

Mobile PPC ads have different device restrictions, a new viewing context, and the needs of customers are also completely different.

Mobile PPC campaigns should ideally link to mobile websites. Mobile internet users have time restrictions so the PPC ads need to be eye-catching. Mobile PPC can also be targeted according to location due to the introduction of GPS smartphones.

If you have not yet considered mobile marketing for your business, now is the best time to get involved and capture additional mobile traffic.

Google Instant May Boost Mobile Marketing

A beta version of Google Instant for mobile devices has been launched in the US.
According to an official Google blog, users of iPhones and Android handsets can access the tool with the click of a button on the search engine's .com site.

The feature works on mobiles in much the same way as the desktop version, by streaming real-time predictive results as a person types in a search term.

On mobile devices, the first suggested link will appear automatically and further results will appear by tapping the screen.

Software engineer Steve Kanefsky advised that pressing enter on the search button will remove the predictions and return pages for the user's specified phrase.

The launch of Google Instant for mobile comes after new research indicated the tool could have a "massive" impact on search engine optimisation if it becomes the norm.
