Birmingham’s tourism industry to be excelled in efforts to boost growth

Waseem Saddique Marketing Services reveal plans for tourism in Birmingham and Solihull in efforts to increase growth.

Hoteliers have recently been consulted on plans to create a new Tourism BID.

“The UK could see Birmingham and Solihull being home to one of the UK’s first ever tourism business improvement districts should new plans for a new private sector approach to marketing in the area’s be agreed by local hotels” a representative of Waseem Saddique Marketing Services in Birmingham has said.

Plans drawn up by representatives of the areas propose new means of deciding the most effective ways to promote and fund the area’s visitor offer.

Reports show that during 2012 Birmingham and Solihull attracted over 39 million visitors contributing to a £5.9 billion boost in the local economy.

Birmingham is one of the UK’s main cities which both locals and tourists want to see improvements to.

A research development consultant from Waseem Saddique Marketing Services in Birmingham has said “a tourism BID would not only provide great opportunities for both local businesses but would also improve the overall experience for tourists visiting the cities.

It’s believed that hoteliers and hotel groups in both Birmingham and Solihull are still being consulted on proposals which will help to outline what both cities are able to achieve, how improvements will be funded and how it will be delivered.

Hotels and serviced accommodation providers with 30 bedrooms or more of which are in the Birmingham City Council and Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council areas will be eligible to vote on the TBID in summer 2014.
